Abstract
When focusing on the teacher of French as a foreign language a definition, not only of his/her role, but also of his/her professional identity should be sought. However, nowadays, being a "teacher of French as a foreign language" shows signs of immobilism. As a result, it is of vital importance to study both the factors of stagnation and dynamism as regards the teacher�s identity and promote consciousness raising and the expression of identitary diversity.
