Abstract
The article establishes a parallelism between two women writers, surely joined by what we might name elective affinities put in contact by another woman across the translation and the adaptation: Emmeline Raymond, translator of Eugenia Marlitt and also writer. Both authoresses remain single, but they allow their imagination fly in search of an ideal love. They use a common subject matter: the poetics of the house, for example. We can establish between their works many concommittances. Topics and motives fit as well as their common worry for the condition of the woman. Both of them are privileged witnesses of their epoch.
