Abstract
In the field of French-Spanish legal translation, forensic reports have been largely ignored as they are considered to be confidential documents with limited access. However, they are of great interest to professionals in specialized translation as they are directly related to the disciplines of Law and Medicine. In order to provide a better understanding of forensic reports, we will study their cultural context in each country and check for any variations, especially regarding their designation in each language. We will also analyse their macrostructure by means of comparative analysis in order to provide data characterizing the textual genre and typology of such documents in both France and Spain.
