In this article we aim to analyse the differences between direct oral interaction and oral interaction at a distance from the recording of a speaking task performed by two pairs of FLE students with a B1 level face-to-face and via videoconference. Both recordings were transcribed using CLAN software from the CHILDES programme. This same software enabled us to characterise both types of oral interaction in terms of pauses, repetitions, reformulations, lengths of statement, lexical richness, etc. Our goal is to study the influence of the computer in oral communication in a distance FLE course.
