Abstract

Research into contextualization of linguistic particularities allows us to show several difficulties related to the use of past tenses in French. To achieve this, our study will focus on five French grammar books, which were published in Spain from 1970, with the aim of combining descriptive and comparative analyses. Disparities existing between similar languages demand not only a study of the different use of these tenses from a morphological, syntactic and discursive point of view, but also a contextualization of their description and terminology.
