Abstract
We are focusing here on a particular aspect of acquisition: the use of verbs in a narrative task carried out by two French groups learning Spanish (ELE-A and ELE-B) and another two groups of Spanish speakers learning French (FLE-A and FLE-B). Groups A have learned the second language mainly in an academic situation (by spending 0- 5 weeks in a foreign country), and groups B have spent several months abroad. We are studying verbal lexicon from a psycholinguistic perspective at two levels : conceptualization (conceptualized semantic predicates or "processes") and lexicalization (verbs used by learners). We have analysed a particular context in narratives: the introduction of spatial reference, where we can easily observe the different behaviors of the groups in conceptualization and lexicalization, depending both on the learner's mother language and on the characteristics of the acquisition process.
