Abstract

Literary studies and traductology have seen the emergence and consolidation of literature in former European colonies, such as French-speaking Africa and the Maghreb. This paper offers a traductological analysis and a translation proposal for Descente en enfer, the first part of the comic Rwanda 1994. This paper aims to study the historical context in which these events took place. We will also offer an approach to the nature and the particularities in the translation of comics. Afterwards, we will carry out a traductological analysis of the first part of Rwanda 1994 in order to identify the most problematic elements in the lexical-semantic, pragmatic and prosodic planes. Finally, a series of fragments selected by their difficulty or their relevance in the comic will be analyzed.
