Resumen
In these pages, we approach one of the main hurdles that literary translators have to face:literary works are inextricably linked to the socioeconomic, cultural and historic situation in which they are born. It is notoriously difficult to successfully incorporate in the translation the idiosyncratic cultural connotations which emanate from the literary work and which also help construct literature’s socio-economic, cultural and historical multi-system. In order to illustrate these difficulties, We look at Sin Noticias de Gurb, by Eduardo Mendoza.
