Abstract
From among all the branches of phraseology, phraseodidactics represents the most oustanding field due to the fact that phraseological units can only survive in language users through the transmission belt of teaching. Nonetheless, in practice it turns out to be an area neglected by mother tongue teachers, which is not the case for foreign language teachers. In fact, these were the first to admit the importance of the idiomaticity that idioms, full of cultural and emotional implicits, can transmit. As a sample of how they could be learned, a didactic unit on fixed expressions with the word chover, considered in their literal as well as their figurative meaning, is proposed in this paper in order to present some keys for their adquisition and active use.
