Resumo
Phraseological competence is one of the main challenges for language learners. Phraseodidactics, as one of the applied fields of Phraseology, fosters this competence by providing teachers and students with certain tools and techniques. In this collective volume, eight specialists put forward the relevance of this field and formulate guidelines for a good acquisition of phraseological units in German as a foreign language. They confront theoretical and practical principles that lie at the foundation of idioms teaching, and contribute to consolidating Phraseodidactics as a significant scientific branch in this field. All in all, the main goal of this book is to give a positive outlook on the use of phraseodidactic techniques and tools in order to provide language teachers with larger resources with which to improve accuracy in learners’ productions. Accuracy, usually defined, from a well-formed utterance perspective, as the native-like use of language in learner productions, is not only a question of fluency and well-formed expressions but also of the learner’s ability to select the right words in the proper context (the so-called native-like selection, or idiomaticity).
