Abstract
This article pretends to be an instrument for reflection on the diverse concepts found in the term grammar, from the perspective of the teaching of French as a foreign language. The first part of this work deals with the relationship between grammar and linguistics, a very clase university discipline. The second part is a study of the polysemy of the term grammar as well as the teaching of grammar according to different methods. The third and last part deals with some grammar exercises in class, and introduces grammar competency as shown in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
