Abstract

After an introduction that presents key notions for a better understanding of the development of empirical research of contrastive-descriptive type made, this article is divided into four parts: the delimitation of the object of study focused on the pathetic figures in the play Sacrifice, within a Spanish-French translation context, and the setting of the objectives pursued; the theoretical framework that sustains the research, focusing on these figures and on the existing translation techniques to achieve translation equivalence; the methodological framework applied to its development; and the analysis of the results before the conclusion.
