El lenguaje emotivo en el texto artístico y los recursos estilísticos de expresión de las emociones, tema del artículo, han sido poco tratados hasta hace poco tiempo por la crítica literaria, si bien la literatura actual ofrece perspectivas adecuadas para su análisis. El artículo recoge una clasificación de las emociones en la novela Antichrista de Amélie Nothomb, el análisis y la identificación de las particularidades del funcionamiento de las figuras retóricas en la plasmación de las emociones y el aspecto dominante desde el punto de vista pragmático, la ironía. El análisis no es exhaustivo, ya que no pretendemos presentar todos los medios lingüísticos empleados por la autora en la expresión de la esfera afectiva. La investigación se basa en el método de análisis descriptivo de evaluación cuantitativa de los medios lingüísticos que dibujan las emociones y en el método de análisis contextual para interpretar un estado emocional en concreto. Concluimos que los recursos lingüísticos y estilísticos no siempre transmiten directamente las emociones, pero ayudan a plasmar el trasfondo emocional y el tono de un texto artístico, a presentar la imaginería que lo constituye, lo que permite al lector comprender mejor los estados emocionales de los personajes.
