Abstract
Wine translation is one of the most studied areas in agri-food translation. Indeed, it has generated a growing interest in the last few years in Translation Studies. This interest is due to several factors, such as the sociocultural influence of wine and its economic potential in the producing regions. Therefore, wine can be considered as a product of great tradition in some countries like I France, cradle of enology, where one of the first treatises was published: André Jullien's Topographie de tous les vignobles connus (1816). In this book, Jullien offered the first enological glossary with about fifty terms of wine tasting. This contribution aims at studying Jullien's figure and analyzing the characteristics of this treaty and its reception in the European continent.
