Abstract

The aim of this communication is to show our updated teaching practices in the field of French Foreign Language learning, and how the technical means developed thanks to ICT have allowed for an increased openness to the world enhancing immersion in this linguistic field, unthinkable during SGAV time. It is well recognised today that the use of new technologies facilitates, strengthens and stimulates second language learning. Nevertheless, we still have a long way to go in terms of thinking about the progression to be made in learning until the point that a student is able to take the necessary steps for achieving his or her autonomy and mastery of the foreign language. Perhaps the obstacle we come across today is the notion of progress. What is the nature of this progression? Is it a sequence defined by a set of contents or some psycholinguistics stages quite difficult to identify? Is it our aim to codify and mark some intermediate stages in the learning process? How can we manage the different stages of the evolution of the learning process?
