Although the contribution ofBelgian writers to the Spanish Civil War is not very well-known, it is worth pointing it out. Breaking with its tradicional silence related to the events that hit Europe in the 20th century, the Belgian Francophon writers reflected in fiction writings the pain and the heartbreak caused by this conflict not only in their hearts but also in the European society. No doubt, we have to bear in mind the phenomenon of che Internacional Brigades where 2.400 Belgian citizens took pare actively. Obviously, the Belgian writers couldn't stand aside from such a mobilisation.
