Current transcultural manifestations attempt to overcome cultural homogenization through a genuine dialogue between cultures. This dialogue would not be an arrival point between static societies, but rather a starting point between societies which, by intersecting, accept to go further in order to interact. In this paper, we analyse how various artistic events are, nowadays, confronting the challenge of cultural crossing. To do this, we start from the concepts of land and water, placing them in the Mediterranean Sea: water is the symbol of mobility that allows intertwining societies in search of an “Other” to become a “We”. By assuming that space plays a key role in the conception of transculturality, we focus on the northern Catalan territory situated in France and, more specifically, on the transboundary Cerdanya from where the author Jordi Pere Cerdà is a native.
