Abstract
In this project we deal with foreign language teaching for students of the Translation and Interpreting degree. Starting from the idea that specific objectives to be achieved have to be borne in mind in language teaching-learning processes, we present the specific needs of prospective translators and interpreters when learning a foreign language. These have been based on the competences outlined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The lack of teaching materials that meet our needs satisfactorily has been stated; therefore, our final objective is to create a specific manual for foreign language teaching in Translation and Interpreting studies.
