Résumé

This paper analyses the functions of the“cabinets de curiosités” in France in the 17th century, focusing on the extraordinary Claude du Molinet’s Le Cabinet de la bibliothèque de Sainte Géneviève (1692), but also on the concordances of the word “cabinet” in French authors at that time. We use digital libraries and electronic tools to analyse texts and prints that showed “cabinets” as crossing and meeting points, a place for diversity and memory.
